Celebrated for its rich variety of culture and cuisine, see the very best of Tuscany across this immersive one-day tour as we set off to explore the cities of Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa.
Making an early getaway from Florence, we’ll arrive in the historic city of Siena and embark on a walking tour of the medieval city centre. Dating back to the 12th-century, these tight stone streets have been largely unchanged over the last several hundred years, and we’ll roam many of them in search of the city’s stunning sights, including the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo and the Siena Cathedral.
Following some free time to wander and shop throughout town, we’ll head back into the picturesque countryside and arrive at a traditional family-run winery where we’ll enjoy a Tuscan-style lunch and wine pairing. Once satisfied, we’ll continue onwards to San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers some remarkable hillside views. You’ll once again have some free time to take a break with a coffee or visit the artisan boutiques that continue to make crafts using centuries-old techniques. Once we return to the road, we’ll quickly make our way to Pisa. But before we get there, make sure you have your camera at the ready as San Gimignano’s castle walls and the surrounding villages provide some charming sights that need to be captured.
Saving the best for last, Pisa can be considered the region’s headline destination. Most famous for the Square of Miracles, it’s here that you’ll find the legendary monuments of the Baptistery, the Pisa Cathedral, the Camposanto, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Spread out across lush green lawns, these four Pisan Romanesque structures have been carved out of pristine white marble and remain one of the most fascinating ancient architectural complexes in the world. Once you’ve finished getting an up-close look at each one, make your way into the city streets and discover why Pisa is still thought of as a must-visit tourist destination.
Join us on this one-day Tuscan adventure as we go in search of some of Italy’s most exquisite food, culture and historic landmarks. Once you’ve finished this tour, you’ll have visited many of Tuscany’s most famous landmarks and enjoyed a wonderful day that you likely won’t forget anytime soon.
