Guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with Skip the Line tickets
Visit the largest Catholic Church in the world - St Peter's Basilica - and admire the Bernini Colonnade, among other impressive works
As many as 20,000 visitors pass through the Vatican’s hallowed museums and archaeological sights each day, but with our Private Vatican Tour, you’ll be able to gain an intimate look at this world-famous destination. The Vatican is recognised globally as one of the most important religious landmarks, and sightseers flock in droves to set their eyes upon the works by many of history’s greatest artists. With our Private Vatican Tour, there’s no delay getting started as our Skip the Line tickets will have you heading inside and absorbed by the many historic artworks that adorn these walls.
This tour begins with the Vatican Museums, an offering of more than fifty individual galleries that together form a collection of masterpieces that are virtually unparalleled. From classic sculpture to Renaissance-era paintings, decorating this sacred venue are some of Italy’s most-loved creations. Over the last five hundred years, the Vatican’s numerous Popes have collected artworks by the likes of Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Giotto and Raphael, which are all on display here. And your expert tour guide can give you the inside story on how these remarkable artworks were created and came to be presented here.
Once you’ve finished exploring the Vatican Museums, this private tour continues on to the iconic St. Peter’s Basilica, the world’s largest Catholic church. Constructed upon the tomb of St. Peter, the basilica as we know it took 120 years to complete. It’s a beautiful building, but that shouldn’t be surprising as legendary figures such as Bramante, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donato each contributed to this massive architectural undertaking. Here, you’ll get up close to dozens of lavish masterpieces, but you shouldn’t miss Michelangelo’s sculpture ‘Pieta’ or Raphael’s towering painting, ‘Altar Of The Transfiguration’. Meanwhile, outside you can take a wander through Bernini’s marvellous colonnade.
The Vatican and its many museums might be some of the most popular sites found anywhere in Italy, but with our Private Vatican Tour, you’ll enjoy a highly individualised tour that presents you with all the art, architecture and culture that this prized destination has to offer.
