From April to October, this tour is available in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish.

From November to March, English and German are available daily, French is available on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday, Spanish is available on Wednesday and Friday, Italian is available on Monday and Saturday.

Please note this tour may not operate in case of an exceptionally high tide and during an unplanned religious celebration.

A visit to the Basilica has a strict clothing policy, please ensure you are wearing appropriate clothing to cover your knees and shoulders (no shorts are allowed). For security reasons, suitcases, backpacks or large bags, are not allowed in the Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. There is storage available at the venue.

Across 3.5 hours, this extensive Venice walking tour is a great way to visit many of the city’s most celebrated landmarks that date back over a thousand years. Once a political and economic force, the height of the Venetian Republic resulted in the creation of numerous outstanding structures that are still standing today. From Doge’s Palace and the Golden Basilica to the former Royal Palace, across this tour, we’ll discover many of the city’s absolute finest monuments.

The first stop on this immersive tour is Piazza San Marco. As the city’s most popular square, surrounding the bustling space is a selection of ancient landmarks that can easily be considered some of the city’s most fascinating. You’ll have the chance to admire the Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the Pantheon of Venice and the Great School of Charity, plus the nearby Malibran Theatre and the Marco Polo House can be found.

As the second destination on our Venetian adventure, Doge’s Palace is perhaps this tour’s most famous stop. Central to the political events that occurred during Venice’s peak of power, with the republic’s leader known as the Doge basing themselves from this lavish palace, it still contains astounding wealth. Skip the line on entry as you roam the historic walkways and come across an incredible array of masterpieces that date back to the European Middle Ages. There’s plenty more to see as the Golden Staircase also provides a glimpse of the riches of Venice, as it once provided a particularly special entrance for esteemed guests entering the palace. There’s also the striking Bridge of Sighs, which links Doge’s Palace to the Venetian prison cells, which once held the renowned author and adventurer Giacomo Casanova before he managed to escape.

Our next stop is St. Mark’s Basilica – one of the world’s most beautiful cathedrals. Home to some of history’s most significant religious events, you’ll learn about the exceptional architecture of the space, including its wealth of gold mosaics, marble floors and the Pala d’Oro, a striking Byzantine enamel altar.

Meanwhile, your entrance ticket also gives you access to a range of other Venetian landmarks, including the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, the Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana and the Museo Correr. There’s also an optional 20-minute tour of a glass factory near Saint Mark’s Square, which is free of charge and separate from our tour.
