Capri is recognised around the world for its drop-dead gorgeous views and awesome Italian cuisine. And you’ll get to experience its very best with this guided one-day tour that sets out to explore the entire island. On Capri, you’ll discover a plush assortment of restaurants, shopping boutiques and historical landmarks. Plus, if you’re lucky, it’s certainly possible to see a who’s who of celebrities walking down Capri’s much-loved streets.
Our tour begins in Sorrento where we’ll pick you up at your accommodation or near Parco Lauro. We’ll then head immediately to the port where you’ll catch the hydrofoil straight to the island. For the uninitiated, Capri actually features two towns with the second known as Anacapri. And this somewhat more relaxed and residential part of the island is where we’ll be making our first stop.
Once you arrive, you’ll get to wander through the Villa San Michele, a strikingly beautiful home that was once home to Dr Alex Munthe, a renowned author and physician to Queen Victoria of Sweden. As we continue on, you have the option to ride the nearby chairlift to the peak of Monte Solaro, the highest point of Capri at a lofty 589 metres.
However, if you decide that the dizzying heights aren’t quite for you, you can head straight for the relaxing alfresco restaurants where you can sip down a coffee and enjoy the fresh island air. After this short break, it’s time to get amongst the glamour of Capri as we head to Piazza Umberto, a bustling square that features a plethora of stylish shopping stores and world-class dining.
Leaving the boutiques behind, we move onwards to the flowery Garden of Augustus. Its botanical terraces offer some stunning panoramic views of Marina Piccola on one side, while there are the iconic Faraglioni Rocks on the other. Before our tour concludes, you’ll have some free time to peruse these wonderful gardens and learn the fascinating history behind Capri. Once you’re finished, we’ll conclude our tour by returning to the hydrofoil and making the short journey back to Sorrento.
This one-day trip might have been short-lived, but Capri’s remarkable natural beauty and the luxurious atmosphere is something you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
