Pay a visit to one of the world’s most iconic ancient destinations by joining us on a tour of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. Called home by the various Popes since the 14th-century, on this tour you’ll get the chance to explore the Vatican’s endless array of fascinating monuments, including the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Across this three-hour tour, you’ll be joined by an expert art historian guide who will lead you through its many monumental spaces, which feature masterpieces by the likes of Raphael, Michelangelo, and Bernini.
Beginning our tour with by wandering the museums, this is your once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore the world’s most important Renaissance art collection. Having been assembled by the Popes over the last five hundred years, you’ll get to view many of the period’s most significant sculptures and paintings that have only grown in stature throughout the centuries. As you get a look at each artwork, your expert guide will be there to provide you with all the remarkable details behind these works. Meanwhile, you’ll also get to learn about the fascinating lives of artists such as Michelangelo and Raphael whose names still carry such enormous influence.
Once we’ve finished considering some simply astounding works of art, we’ll make our way to St Peter’s Square where the tour finishes. You can choose to stay and roam Bernini’s stunningly crafted colonnade before entering the Basilica. Recognised as one of the most important religious structures in all of Christianity, a host of celebrated ancient architects contributed to its design and construction, including Michelangelo.
