Explore the Vatican in the most intimate way possible as our private tour teams you up with a knowledgeable local guide who will help you get the most out of this three-hour afternoon adventure.
Skip the line as you begin your tour at the Vatican Museums, the home of the world’s most impressive Renaissance-era art collection, which includes masterpieces by the likes of Michelangelo, Raphael and Caravaggio. Having been put together by the Vatican’s Popes over the last five hundred years, you’ll get to experience a host of world-famous statues and paintings that depict incredible beauty and an enduring sense of history. The Vatican Museums are filled with fascinating artworks, and as you make your way through its seemingly endless spaces, your expert guide will be there to provide you with all the most interesting details about each piece.
Once you’ve finished exploring the Vatican’s celebrated art collection, we’ll make our way to St. Peter’s Basilica. Undeniably one of the world’s most recognisable buildings, before you enter you’ll have the chance to roam Bernini’s outstanding Colonnade, which ushers you into the Basilica. Designed by a wealth of Italy’s most significant architects, including Michelangelo, gaze up at the Basilica’s soaring ceiling alongside Bramante’s dome, which is still the largest found anywhere around the globe. Kept inside the Basilica is also a wonderful collection of structures produced by Bernini, including the ornate baldachin, the Chapel of the Sacrament and the chair of St. Peter. Meanwhile, you’ll also come across more of Michelangelo’s designs, including his world-famous sculpture, “Pieta.”
The Vatican is one of the must-visit landmarks when it comes to visiting Rome. This tour represents an outstanding chance to experience all of its wonderful art and history with a personal touch that makes your time here something truly special.
