As the fifth largest region of Italy, Tuscany’s remarkable landscape sprawls from Chianti’s famous vineyards and the Apennine Mountains to its picturesque islands. This multi-day adventure explores some of its very best as we pay a visit to the world-famous Cinque Terre coastline and the cities of Siena and San Gimignano with their historic wineries.
Day One (dinner)
Join your experienced tour guide as we depart Florence and head for the iconic city of Siena. Surrounded by wine estates and seemingly endless rows of olive groves, we’ll explore this ancient city’s most popular landmarks, including the famously shell-shaped Piazza del Campo. There’s also plenty of time to enjoy a specialty tasting of Siena’s incredible flavours and aromas.
Having explored Siena, we’ll drive about 50-kilometres to the city of San Gimignano. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll have the opportunity to wander the historic streets and shop in the many charming boutiques and eateries. Don’t forget to get a closer look at the 13 medieval towers that soar above the rest of the skyline.
As the sun begins to set, we’ll head to our luxurious hotel, Relais Villa Olmo, which is also where we’ll enjoy a dinner that showcases Tuscany’s wonderful flavours.
Day Two (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
Following a delicious breakfast, we’ll drive to the exceptional Italian Riviera and its iconic region, Cinque Terre. Beloved for its vibrantly coloured hillside fishing villages, there are numerous outstanding sights to explore here. Throughout the day, we’ll hike along the hilltop pathways that connect each of the five towns as we pass through some spectacular vineyards and terraced gardens.
These quaint villages are renowned for their Ligurian cuisine and we’ll sit down for a tasty meal of fresh seafood and white wine. After a long day out in the sun exploring the vineyards and the narrow streets, we’ll head back to the hotel and another banquet.
Day Three (breakfast, lunch)
For our final day exploring Tuscany, we’ll head deep into the Chianti hills and visit the historic wine estates that are considered some of the best in the world. Led by an expert sommelier, you’ll get to taste the delightful ‘Super Tuscans’ red wine blend and watch these famous winemakers in action. Ending our Tuscan escape in style before we head for Florence, we’ll sample a selection of local wines, paired with a mouth-watering meal.
