Day 1: Journey along the Highway of the Sun towards Pompeii & the Amalfi Coast
Guided visit to the UNESCO listed site of Pompeii to discover how the city was frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD
Check into the hotel in Sorrento - enjoy a delicious dinner and take the time to explore this wonderful city
Day 2: Start the day with a journey to the Island of Capri to discover the iconic turquoise waters of the Blue Grotto
Hop on board the bus to enjoy a scenic drive to Anacapri. Make sure you soak in the stunning views of the Bay of Naples
We'll refuel with a delicious Italian lunch at a local resturant. Take advantage of your free time in Capri before returning back to Rome
There’s so much to love about exploring Italy, yet it’s the south that has an unmistakable charm that has to be experienced. Our 2-Day Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri Tour makes discovering the region easy as we invite you to adventure up and down the stunning coastline while indulging in the wonderful cuisine and the many historic landmarks.
Day One (lunch & dinner)
We begin by taking a scenic drive down the ‘Highway of the Sun’ – Italy’s most famous road. Snaking its way down much of the country, you’ll get a glimpse of the beautiful Italian countryside as you pass through ancient ruins, charming villages and the Castelli Romani, a collection of 13 hillside towns.
As we arrive in Naples, grab your camera and look out the window as you need to capture these striking Mediterranean views. Meanwhile, this being the birthplace of pizza, we’ll stop for lunch at a delicious traditional pizzeria. Once everyone has consumed their fair share of slices, we’ll continue on to Pompeii where you’ll spend the afternoon wandering the immaculately preserved streets.
As the afternoon draws to a close, we’ll depart this historic site and make our way down the splendid coastline, eventually arriving in the picturesque hillside town of Sorrento. We’ll sit down for a formal dinner, but then the night is yours as you’re free to roam the bustling marinas and narrow alleyways. And to top off this superb day, you’ll be resting your head in a lavish four-star hotel room.
Day Two
Tuck into a scrumptious early morning breakfast as we make a quick getaway and head for the island of Capri where weather permitting, we’ll go by boat to the Blue Grotto. Here, you’ll observe the spectacular underwater cave that turns a magical shade of turquoise as the sun hits the water.
Back on land, we’ll take a short bus ride to the nearby community of Anacapri, which features sprawling views that stretch across the Bay of Naples. After another classic Italian lunch (own cost), you’ll end your two-day adventure by roaming the historic city streets before we eventually we begin our journey back to Rome.
Across this whirlwind two-day tour, soak up the classic food, history and charm offered by Italy’s south – a region that simply can’t be missed by any lover of Italian culture.
