Tuscany is renowned for its enchanting food and wine, and the Chianti hills are its most delicious region. This Food and Wine Cycling Tour is the most tranquil way to experience all the wonderful colours and flavours on offer as we take a casual peddle throughout the rolling hills. Glide by the medieval towns and sprawling groves of grapes and olives as we pay a visit to two admired wineries.
Join your professional guide as we depart the fast-paced streets of Florence and take a 25-minute journey bus ride into the Tuscan countryside. Once we arrive, we’ll climb aboard our comfortable bicycles and set off on this adventure through sun-drenched landscapes as we discover the delightful cuisine that makes this region so popular. Don’t leave your camera behind, along these dusty hillside roads are some of Italy’s most stunning sights, and we’ll be sure to make frequent stops so that we can capture them all.
Eventually, we’ll rest for a tasty picnic as we sit amid a beautiful spot underneath a collection of towering oak, olive and cypress trees. Look out upon the groves that fade into the distance as we unpack our baskets and enjoy a selection of fresh croissants and Tuscan snacks, including crunchy bread with salt and extra-virgin olive oil.
Satisfied, we’ll mount our bicycles once again and make our way to the first of two wineries we’ll visit during this six-hour tour. Those familiar with the world of wine will be more than impressed as we explore the cellars on this extensive wine estate and experience its incredible production standards. We’ll then cycle to the second winery, which is where you’ll get an up-close look at a boutique winemaker. Once here, you’ll learn the processes that go into making high-quality olive oil, plus the best techniques behind ageing, storing and bottling top-notch wine.
For anyone who comes and explores the Italian countryside, Tuscany and the Chianti hills provide some of the most striking vistas you can set your gaze upon. Join us and peddle your way through the flavours and aromas that make this region so serene.
