Tuscany is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. It has everything, from the Leaning Tower of Pisa to Michelangelo’s David statue.
There aren’t enough days to explore and experience Tuscany. But if all you have is two days, then that is more than enough time to see parts of Tuscany. There are so many beautiful cities in the region of Tuscany. So, let’s go over some of the most popular cities to give you an idea of how to spend your two days.
Pisa
When in Pisa, you must visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, it’s where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is! You can visit the tower and take a photo ‘trying to hold it up’, or you can buy entry tickets. The entry tickets allow you to climb the stairs to the top of the tower. When at the Piazza dei Miracoli you can also see many other attractions. You’ll be able to see the Baptistry, Monumental Cemetery and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
Florence
Florence is the home to Michelangelo’s David which is at Accademia Gallery. If you’re into seeing galleries, go to the Uffizi Gallery which has art from Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Botticelli. We highly recommend seeing the Florence Cathedral and climbing the Duomo. At the Duomo terrace, you’ll get an incredible view of the city. You can also visit the Ponte Vecchio which is a bridge over the Arno River. The bridge was the only one that wasn’t destroyed during World War II. At Ponte Vecchio, there are many shops along to go and see.
Chianti
Chianti is one of the most popular wine regions in the world. The best way to see Chianti is through a wine tour. You can walk through some of the vineyards when visiting a winery. But there are so many great wines to taste in this region. You’ll learn about how the winery owners look after their wines and how the wines are made.
There are a lot of one day tours that can take you to some of these cities plus a few others. This is a great way to see plenty of Tuscany. Or you can do a tour of one of these cities and see the highlights. A great one day tour is the Tuscany Day Tour. This tour goes for about 12 hours, so it’s a big day! During the Tuscany Day Tour, you’ll visit Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, and Chianti. You’ll see the highlights of these beautiful places all in one day!
